Welcome to Year 6!  Please read below for general information about expectations.

Reading

Please ensure that your child reads daily.  They should be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books.  It is important that they read to an adult/older sibling as often as possible.  Please ask your child questions about what they have read and encourage them to give opinions about the book.  Reading diaries must be signed by an adult each time they read at home.

Water Bottles

Your child must bring in a water bottle each day.  Our water fountains are currently switched off, so water bottles from home are essential.  They will bring these home each day.

Home Learning

You will find each term's Home Learning by clicking on the 'Our Learning' tab on the right.  Then select the correct term.  Your child may wish to complete their Home Learning activities on their Teams Notebook, or alternatively, they will be given an exercise book in which they may wish to do their work in.  Please click on the correct term to the right of this page to find current Home Learning activities.

P.E

Year 6 P.E lessons are on Tuesday's and Thursday's.  Please ensure your child has their correct PE kit in school.  No jewellery to be worn for any PE lessons.

Walking home

If your child has permission to walk home on their own at the end of the school day it is essential that you provide written consent, which should be handed directly to the class teacher.  Children without written consent will not be given permission to walk home on their own.

Topic

Please click on our 'Our Learning' tab on the right to find our topic pages for each term.

Birthdays

Please be reminded that children are not to bring in party bags or sweets.  Instead, we ask that a book is donated to our school/class library.
